Adaptive Basketball is a new program at Augusta Recreation. Participants with physical or cognitive disabilities, will have an opportunity to learn basketball skills, participate as a team, meet new friends, and enjoy the sport of basketball. A parent or support person must remain in attendance with the player.

Volunteer basketball coaches WILL be needed for this program. Please reach out to David.Gallant@augustamaine.gov if interested or able.

Starts Tuesday 01/25/22 and goes for 4 weeks, ending 02/15/22.
Practices will be on Tuesday's from 5:45-6:45p.m at Buker Community Center.
This program is for children ages 5-14 years in age.

This program and it's mandated policies are subject to change at any time without notice. City of Augusta Recreation will follow all COVID-19 recommendations set in place by the State of Maine, CDC, MPA, and City of Augusta Protocols from our Health Officer. Augusta Recreation will always lean on the side of caution to keep families within our surrounding communities safe.

If you have been identified as a close exposure to COVID-19 you will be asked to isolate from Augusta Recreation practices/games for a minimum of 10 days and will be required to submit a negative test no earlier than 48 hours prior to returning to Augusta Recreation's practices/games.
