City of Augusta Childcare is a State Licensed & Nationally Accredited program for school aged children grades Kindergarten through 6th grade during the 2020-2021 academic year.
The Childcare Bureau is adapting its School Year Childcare program to accommodate the 20/21 academic year while following state and CDC guidelines. This has influenced a number of changes within the program for the safety and growth of the children. This is based on the schools Yellow/Hybrid Model. If the Schools phase into another model, we will adjust accordingly. For the 20/21 School Year we will be offering limited slots with multiple enrollment options for 5 designated grade specific classrooms.
Enrollment Package Options
All Childcare (Including Before School Care) will be held at Buker Community Center.
Package A is for Kindergarten
Kinder will be attending school 4 days a week with 1 virtual learning day on Wednesday.
To accommodate this grades School year model, Childcare Hours will be as follows:
Monday-Tuesday (School Days): 7:00*a-8:00a and 3:00p-5:30p
Wednesday (All Day Care): 7:00a-5:30p
Thursday-Friday (School Days): 7:00*a - 8:00a and 3:00p-5:30p
If you need care on Holidays, Vacations and Snow Days,
you will need to also sign up for All Day Care, Package C.
Package B is for children 1st - 6th Grade
1st-6th Grade will be utilizing a 2-1-2 school year hybrid. This means the school will be divided into 2 groups called PODS. Each POD will attend school 2 days a week with 3 virtual learning days.
To accommodate this grades School year model Childcare Hours for this package will be:
POD A:
Monday&Thursday (School Days): 7:00*a-8:00a and 3:00p-5:30p
Tuesday,Wednesday & Friday (All Day Care): 7:00*a-5:30p
POD B:
Tuesday&Friday:(School Days) 7:00*a - 8:00a and 3:00p-5:30p
Monday, Wednesday & Thursday (All Day Care): 7:00*a-5:30p
This package includes vacations, and snow days (*Snow Days will open at 7:30a)
Package C is for Vacation Only All Day Care
This package only offers All Day Care for ONLY School Vacations. This is for families that only need care on vacation weeks and Package A Kinder families that need vacation care along with regular school week care. Vacation All Day Care is NOT an option for children in the Hybrid model that only want care 3 days a week.
